Aims and scope of ARQ journal
ARQ is a bilingual journal published three times a year, with a strong reputation based on reflection, research and critical dissemination of contemporary production in architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design. Continuously published since 1980, it’s one of the most prestigious architecture publications in Latin America.
The journal’s main objective is to foster culture and the advancement of knowledge of architecture, landscape architecture and the contemporary city. We strive to promote up-and-coming along with established voices in research and design by providing an international platform for ideas and debate.The journal’s intended readership is made up of architects, students, researchers, academics, professionals and the general public whose interests are connected with the built environment.
Open Access
ARQ adheres to the DOAJ’s definition of an open acces journal. This means that all content published in ARQ is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to search, read, download, print, copy, distribute, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful non-commercial purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. The only requirement is that the author and original source are named and clearly acknowledged.
Issues of ARQ [from 2001 to this day] are published under a Creative Commons license (CC BY-NC 4.0) and are available for free to readers through SciELO Online Scientific Library. Printed copies of the journal are available for sale in selected bookshops and our online shop.

Contents and sections
The issues of ARQ are thematic. We publish academic articles, interviews, reviews, essays, built work or projects that relate to the theme of each open call. ARQ is a peer-reviewed journal and the selection of content is carried out through an open call for submissions.
