The third and final open call of our 2026 editorial cycle, centered on housing, is now open. ARQ 124 invites contributions that linger in the "in-betweens" of housing and the city: infrastructure, thresholds, communal spaces, or gray areas that resist easy categorization. We welcome academic essays (6,000 words), opinion columns and critiques (1,500 words), works and projects (10-page PDF), and outstanding thesis projects.

The 36th volume of the ARQ Docs series brings together two essays by historian Graciela Silvestri on how architects have learned to see the city through travel, cinema, and comics. From Le Corbusier's journey across South America to the urban futures of El Eternauta and Blade Runner, Silvestri traces the cultural operations that shaped the modern spatial imagination in Latin America.
