This second book in the CEDEUS "Topics in Sustainability" series describes and analyzes the structure and development of cities and their dynamic relationship with the surrounding territory, addressing fundamental aspects of urban and territorial sustainability. In particular, it discusses the forms of urban growth, the multi-scale nature of urban planning and the relevance of accessibility in territorial planning. Each chapter presents the state of the art and discusses the current challenges in this area for Latin America and the Caribbean. Finally, as in the previous book, it includes an Atlas of Cases that illustrates the rich and diverse regional experience as an input for mutual learning.
