Christophe Rousselle had the good fortune of finding his architectural path while he was an exchange student in Chile. That path began as a critique of the monotony of the real estate market and has led, today, to the extensive body of counterproposals illustrated in this book. Le Corbusier called his office the "workshop of patient research." It is not common to find architects immersed in a genuine inquiry, insisting on certain themes across their different projects. Nor is it common for architects to move beyond the realm of design to use the management tools that allow them to develop the themes they pursue. These particularities in Christophe Rousselle's work spark disciplinary interest, especially when they address the architectural typology we interact with every day: our residences.

Christophe Rousselle
Architect, the City and Territories of Marne-la-Vallée. Master in Architecture, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He is the founder of Christophe Rousselle Architecte Urbaniste (2004), with which he develops projects in France, Asia, and Latin America. In 2006, he won the New Albums of Young Architects Award. His work focuses primarily on vertical densification, with special attention to environmental quality requirements, while also considering issues related to territory, landscape, and sociology. In this way, his studio has developed an approach where the dynamics of sustainable development serve as a source of creation for the architectural heritage of the future.
